BrioHR Secures $6.5M in Series A Funding Led by Openspace Ventures

On Wednesday, BrioHR, a human resource tech startup based in Malaysia, announced that it has raised S$8.7 million ($6.5 million) in Series A funding. This will help the company improve how businesses manage HR practices across Southeast Asia.

The company said in a statement that the funding round was led by Openspace Ventures, a top investor in Singapore’s tech scene. It also received support from Taiwania Hive Ventures and other regional investors.

BrioHR said that this funding shows growing confidence in the company. It is now ready to meet the digital HR needs of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) and larger companies in Singapore and the surrounding region.

BrioHR is an all-in-one platform that uses technology to help over 1,000 companies in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and other ASEAN countries manage payroll, compliance, and employee engagement all in one place.

After closing this funding, BrioHR’s primary focus will be to enhance its use of artificial intelligence (AI) and expand its presence in Singapore. This is especially important as businesses in Singapore are dealing with rapid changes in the workforce.

“This investment validates our vision of making HR seamless and accessible to every business in ASEAN,” said Benjamin Croc, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of BrioHR.

“Being a global tech and innovation hub, Singapore is an important market for us,

“The government’s push for digital transformation, AI adoption and smart workforce solutions through the Singapore Economy 2030 Vision perfectly aligns with BrioHR’s aim of equipping businesses with leading HR technology,” he added.

He also mentioned that this funding comes at the perfect time for Singapore’s tech scene, which is still attracting investments worldwide and helping local startups grow.

“Singapore is the number one destination for tech startups in Southeast Asia because of its progressive infrastructure, pro-business policies and rich talent availability,” he noted.

He added that with this funding, the company will improve its position in Singapore by taking advantage of its strong digital economy. The goal is to create AI-driven solutions that help businesses grow.

This funding isn’t just helping us grow—it’s helping to shape the future of work in ASEAN.

“And with Singapore as our launchpad where the Government is pioneering policies, and the startup ecosystem is booming, we are excited about our next innovation stage,” he said.

Hian Goh, Co-founder and Partner at Openspace Ventures said that Singapore’s role as a regional tech hub makes it the perfect place to grow innovative solutions like BrioHR.

“Their platform helps businesses overcome major challenges when dealing with complex HR regulations in multiple ASEAN countries,”

“We are delighted to be a part of their next growth stage, and to help them scale in Singapore where businesses are adopting digital HR faster than ever before,” he added.
