Carsharing platform GetGo and electric vehicle (EV) platform Charge+ have partnered to increase condo market access to shared and sustainable transportation.
The duo announced that GetGo’s EVs and Charge+’s EV charging infrastructure will give Singapore’s condominium residents an eco-friendly transportation option right at their doorstep through this exclusive partnership.
GetGo and Charge+ want to equip 100 condos with shared EVs and charging facilities by 2025.
Due to younger generations’ changing car ownership attitudes and EV charging infrastructure, Singapore’s urban landscape will change.
The duo cited a Straits Times survey that showed automobile ownership expectations plummeted from 65 percent in 2016 to 50 percent in 2022 due to high expenses, public transportation upgrades, and convenient and sustainable commuting options like carsharing. As of July 2024, Singapore has 7,100 EV charge spots.
The Singapore Green Plan 2030 includes establishing 60,000 EV charging outlets on public and private property, which explains this trend.
The announcement states that GetGo and Charge+ will use their car fleet management and charging point installation skills to offer condominium members direct access to GetGo’s integrated shared EVs and Charge+’s EV charging infrastructure.
This cooperation also encourages condominium management to install EV charging stations to accommodate the rising EV driver population and enable on-demand access to GetGo’s shared EVs.

This collaboration supports the Singapore government’s urban sustainability goals.

GetGo and Charge+ will expand its EV carsharing and charging services to more Singapore condominiums, offering residents a one-stop option for sustainable transportation, the statement said.

It will also offer a new feature in the fourth quarter of 2024 that gives onboarded condominium developers secure access to resident-only carsharing vehicles.

This initiative will provide further impetus for condominiums to support the proliferation of EV charging infrastructure, not only to serve residents who own EVs, but also residents who do not own an EV but need a sustainable transportation option,” he added.
Condominium developers with exclusive access to GetGo’s shared EVs and Charge+’s EV charging points can optimise parking infrastructure and lot allocation by lowering owned automobiles and carpark lots.
