[FUNDING NEWS] Guy Flechter Secures $28 Million in Seed Round Funding

Guy Flechter, an entrepreneur, developed Cider Security with Daniel Krivelevich, which he later sold to Palo Alto Networks for an amazing $300 million exit. This is Flechter's second venture. At the time of the sale, cider had only been around for two years and had only raised $38 million.

However, as part of the integration process with Palo Alto, the American cyber giant founded by Nir Zuk, who currently employs around a thousand people in its Israeli development center, Cider was forced to fire a third of its roughly ninety employees soon after the deal.

The prompt sale subsequently made it possible for VC Glilot Capital, Cider’s first and largest investor, to repay the entirety of its third Seed fund. Flechter founded the new business four months ago after leaving Palo Alto, where he was the Chief AppSec Officer.

For twenty years, It has been involved in the local cyber industry. He began his career in the Israeli Air Force’s cyber branch before moving on to hold executive roles at Israeli high-tech businesses including AppsFlyer and LivePerson.

The venture capital firm S Capital, which was started by Haim Sadger and Aya Peterburg, spearheaded Sola’s financing efforts. Well-known investor Michael Moritz and the S32 fund, which is made up of former Google employees, also contributed.

Throughout his tenure as a partner at Sequoia Capital, one of the biggest and most prestigious venture capital firms globally, for forty years, Moritz earned the moniker “Michael Jordan” of the business. He was one of the original investors in businesses including Nvidia, PayPal, Yahoo, and Google.

On a solidarity visit, Moritz recently went to Israel and met with Isaac Herzog, the president of the nation, as well as abductees who had returned from Gaza. Using Sadger and Peterburg, who had previously collaborated with him at Sequoia, he also visited with a number of business owners. Moritz’s current direct investment in Sola is unique since it comes directly from his own pocket rather than via a fund.
