Finnish-Iraqi EdTech startup Corrsy raised $500,000 in pre-seed funding. Corrsy can alter SWANA (South West Asia and North Africa) education with innovative learning solutions with this major investment.
Mohamed Al-Hakim’s emerging market venture capital firm EQIQ led the financing round. Finnish angel investor Risto Vahanen, UK-based SuperChargers Ventures EdTech accelerator, Yousef Durubi’s Durubi Management Holding Company, Jordanian angel investor Adel Qahwaji, and Finnish investor Pekka Hermonen are notable investors.
Mustafa Salam founded Corrsy in 2019 to solve educational issues in Iraq and SWANA. Mustafa’s idea for Corrsy was informed by his experiences in Iraq, including losing his father and being displaced. His goal is to improve education and society via technology.
Corrsy has advanced EdTech since its founding. The Corrsy app, introduced in 2022, has been downloaded over 500,000 times by Iraqi students.

It was the first platform in SWANA to combine gamification, storytelling, and micro-learning in its mobile game app, giving students a unique and engaging learning experience.
