CrowdStrike Buys Browser Security Startup Seraphic for $400M

CrowdStrike is buying Israeli cybersecurity startup Seraphic Security. The companies have not officially shared the deal details, but reports say CrowdStrike will pay about $400 million for the company.

Seraphic raised $29 million in a Series A funding round in January last year. The round was led by GreatPoint Ventures, with support from the CrowdStrike Falcon Fund and existing investors including Planven, Cota Capital, and Storm Ventures. In total, the company has raised about $37 million so far.

Seraphic’s platform turns any regular browser into a secure browser with built-in protection and threat detection. It allows employees and external users to safely access SaaS and private web applications on both company-managed and personal devices, without the need for complex or expensive VPNs or VDI systems.

The solution works quietly in the background, so users don’t notice any changes. It supports all major browsers and popular desktop apps, including Microsoft Teams, Slack, Discord and WhatsApp.

This deal is CrowdStrike’s sixth acquisition in Israel and its first one since 2024.

Earlier, CrowdStrike bought Adaptive Shield for $300 million in November 2024. In March that year, it also acquired Flow Security for about $200 million, just six months after purchasing Bionic for $350 million.

Seraphic operates in a competitive market with several Israeli companies, including Talon, which was acquired by Palo Alto Networks, and Island. Unlike these competitors, Seraphic uses software that works directly inside the browser to help stop cyberattacks.

According to the company, this approach solves common industry problems, such as slow workflows, high setup costs, long installation times, and the need for heavy ongoing maintenance.

“Productivity requires flexibility and security; users want to work in their browser of choice. Seraphic delivers exactly that,” said George Kurtz, CEO and founder of CrowdStrike. “By decoupling security from the browser itself, we can turn any browser into a secure enterprise browser, without forcing change or slowing productivity. With our vast endpoint signals combined with Seraphic’s in-session visibility and SGNL’s dynamic authorization, we are defining the future of Zero Standing Privilege for the modern agentic workforce.”

“The browser is where modern work happens,” said Ilan Yeshua, CEO and co-founder of Seraphic. “In joining CrowdStrike, we are bringing platform-level protection to the most important execution layer in the enterprise, ensuring that zero trust is a continuous reality, not just a gateway check.”

Seraphic was founded in 2020 by CEO Ilan Yeshua, the former long-time CEO of news website Walla, and CTO Avihay Cohen. The company currently employs more than 50 people.
