Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), SANS Institute and the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) are collaborating to equip Singapore’s cybersecurity professionals with the knowledge and abilities to confront and outpace the rapidly evolving landscape of cyber threats.

Over 550 Singaporean students have enrolled in SANS courses to date, which attests to the collaboration’s growing and significant impact on the skill set of cybersecurity experts.

The Baseload arrangement program, a “first-of-its-kind” attempt to expedite cybersecurity training access for Singapore’s public officials and guarantee they have the most recent skills and information, was unveiled by SANS last year.

SANS assisted CSA in 2023 for Exercise Cyber Star, a sophisticated cyber exercise designed to improve Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) operators’ preparedness and resilience by simulating actual attacks. The most recent financing for 18 SANS courses and 17 GIAC certifications was obtained by SANS from SkillsFuture Singapore, expanding the chances for local workers to obtain excellent cybersecurity training.

Through the MOU, CSA and SANS Institute will be able to work together more closely in three key areas: developing workforce training opportunities, improving cybersecurity skills and capability development, and improving exercise planning to guarantee all-encompassing cybersecurity readiness.

“It is important to deepen Singapore’s cybersecurity capabilities so that we can better respond to cyber threats as well as to take advantage of the opportunities that digitalization brings,” Dan Yock Hau, assistant chief executive (National Cyber Resilience) of CSA, said in a Tuesday media statement. “This partnership with SANS is an expansion of our efforts to ensure that our cybersecurity workforce receive up-to-date training and gain practical experience through these internationally recognized courses and certifications.”

This partnership, which makes use of SANS’ extensive worldwide cybersecurity knowledge, demonstrates Singapore’s commitment to strengthening its cybersecurity infrastructure in accordance with the strictest international guidelines.
