[FUNDING NEWS] Hong Kong-Based Gamee Receives Investment from Pantera Capital

Pantera Capital (Pantera) has invested in GAMEE, the mobile gaming platform that created the popular game WatBird and is a subsidiary of Animoca Brands.

Pantera Capital (Pantera) has invested in GAMEE, the mobile gaming platform that created the popular game WatBird and is a subsidiary of Animoca Brands.

According to a statement from Animoca Brands, GAMEE plans to use the money to increase its visibility on The Open Network (TON) with WatBird, a popular game that connects and onboards Telegram users to Web3 through entertaining gameplay that is reminiscent of memes.

The statement claims that GAMEE is incorporating TON-based digital assets, including as tokens and NFTs, into its gaming experiences on Telegram in an effort to increase its visibility on the TON ecosystem.

Through community-driven market activations on GAMEE’s Telegram Mini App, the company hopes to draw more gamers, Web3 communities, GameFi investors, and Telegram users to the TON ecosystem. To date, over 4 million GAMEE users have linked their TON Wallets to WatBird.

Pantera’s investment comes after GAMEE recently obtained funding from TON Ventures.

It is stated that Pantera, which presently oversees more than $5 billion in assets, is the first institutional investment business in the US to concentrate solely on blockchain technology.

Pantera expressed its belief in the potential of the TON ecosystem in a recent letter, calling it the biggest investment in the company’s history.

Among Pantera’s initial investments in the TON ecosystem is GAMEE, a prominent gaming platform on Telegram.
