Pune-based fintech and brokerage startup Definedge has raised Rs 22 crore (USD$2.3 Mn) in a Pre-Series A funding round. The round saw participation from existing investors Nitin Agarwal and D. Prasad, along with new investors Anant Jain and Sachin Kasera. The latest funding takes Definedge’s total funding raised to Rs 30 crore.

Funding Details

Definedge raised Rs 22 crore in its Pre-Series A round from existing investors Nitin Agarwal and D. Prasad, along with new investors Anant Jain and Sachin Kasera.

The company had previously raised its first institutional and angel funding round in November last year from investors including Hemant Luthra, Ajay Srivastava, D. Prasad, Nitin Agarwal and Madhusudan N. Sarda.

With the latest round, Definedge’s total funding has reached Rs 30 crore.

How Will Definedge Use the Funding?

The fresh capital will be used to strengthen Definedge’s technology infrastructure and low-latency execution capabilities.

The company plans to scale its Zone and Opstra trading products and expand Algostra into a no-code retail algo-trading platform. It will also develop Momentify from a systematic investing tool into a broader wealth creation platform.

Who Founded Definedge

Definedge is headquartered in Pune and was founded by Prashant Shah and Rajesh Badiye in 2021. Its product ecosystem covers trading, investing, research and learning for retail market participants.

Momentify has crossed Rs 1,000 crore in assets under management. Definedge is targeting Rs 5,000 crore in AUM through the platform over the next 24 months. The company also plans to expand its Gurukul learning ecosystem.

Market and Business Growth

Definedge said its user base has grown 125% over the last 14 months and 10X over the last 36 months.

The company is also focusing on AI-powered platforms such as Momentify and Algostra while expanding its technology, customer service and operational infrastructure.

Definedge plans to scale its trading and investing platforms, expand its retail algo-trading offering and continue developing Momentify and Gurukul.
