The “Building Your Edges: Edge Summit in partnership with Oracle NetSuite and ONE Pacific and in collaboration with Cyberport and Hong Kong-based venture capital firm Gobi Partners convened the “Tech-Forward Ventures in ASEAN” summit to discuss how Hong Kong businesses can access advanced cloud-based ERP systems, budding startup support programs, explore venture capital possibilities to lure more companies to enter ASEAN, and foster growth, diversification, and resilience.
Numerous employees attended the summit—chief executives from e-commerce companies, SME Association members, startup advisors, technology business individuals, and marketing specialists, all of whom were primarily interested in the potential of ASEAN market expansion.

ONE Pacific marked the achievement as one of the few firms worldwide and the first Hong Kong-based to be granted “Expertise in ERP” by Oracle NetSuite. Mr. According to Herman Yong, Director of ONE Pacific, many clients from Hong Kong, mainland China, Europe, and the United States have been showing much interest in ASEAN and beyond in the past. Whether through the acquisition models or the models that replicate the subsidiary operations, the actualization of high levels of transparency and effectiveness in the overseas group management sited in Hong Kong managing the financial, revenue, fixed asset, and tax management effectively calls for the engagement of an experienced professional consultant. This setup has to cut across management, middle management, and frontline teams with the same cloud ERP digital strategy. The effective solution offered by Oracle NetSuite means fast implementation and the successful attainment of rather high growth rates.
Also, Mr. Fred Li, Senior Executive Director at Gobi Partners, said that in one month he gave six talks on the topic of the expansion of the business. Explaining this approach, he indicated that this theme is decidedly novel to the strategic evolution of Chinese information technology firms. Over the last few years, new players like Fano Labs, WeLab, and Anker have successfully entered the region, thus creating significant early models for other Bay Area players seeking to go international.
Another contribution was made by Mr. Edmond Lau, Chief Financial Officer of Cyberport, according to whom Cyberport has developed an extensive startup support program at the current stage, which includes funding in the amount of up to 1.1 million HKD and free office space during the stay in the incubator program. The Cyberport is endowed with a massive support structure that helps startups gain necessary business outcomes, access funding, get key technological solutions, and penetrate overseas markets, thus fostering their growth. More than 600 startup projects have tapped into the “Cyberport Accelerator Support Programme” and the “Overseas / Mainland Market Development Support Scheme” (MDSS). In addition, Cyberport has been aggressively seeking partnerships throughout the ASEAN region; Cyberport is now inviting industry experts who understand markets in Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia to be its “ambassadors” to assist startups to enter local markets and find more resources to support their overseas market entry. To illustrate this, WeLab, which is a company from Cyberport, has adopted a good strategy in the ASEAN market successfully.
With the momentum for ASEAN expansion intact, Edge Summit will endeavor to host more such events to connect buyers with summit industry experts and professionals and guide Hong Kong enterprises to seize further business opportunities in the ASEAN market.
