Firmus Technologies raises $505 million round led by Coatue

Firmus Technologies, an Australian data center company, raised US$505 million in funding in a round led by Coatue. The company is now valued at $5.5 billion.

Nvidia also joined the round as part of a global effort to invest in AI infrastructure.

The new funding comes after Firmus raised about US$715 million in 2025, including US$327 million in November.

According to reports, this was the third and final funding round before the company’s IPO. Sources say the company’s management was expected to present their plans to potential investors on Tuesday.

Founded in 2019, Firmus builds and runs data centers designed to handle heavy AI workloads that need powerful computing systems. These centers are built to support large groups of GPUs connected with high-speed networks, along with storage and cooling systems.

The company’s data centers are designed to work smoothly with Nvidia’s hardware and software. This helps customers easily set up standard systems for training and running AI models.

Firmus also focuses on strong power and cooling systems, so the data centers can run continuously even under very high computing demand.

Firmus offers dedicated computing power through managed systems, where everything—from setup to daily operation—is handled on one platform.

Customers can easily scale their work across multiple systems, whether they are training AI models or running them. The company provides a complete solution that combines computing, networking, and facility management in one place.
