Saudi Arabia-based mobile game developer FLOATY Studio has raised US$1 million in a funding round. The investment was led by Merak Capital through its Merak Gaming Fund (MGF).

The Merak Gaming Fund has already invested in other gaming companies, including Qwacks and Khosouf Studio, as part of its mission to help local game developers build globally competitive studios.

Merak Capital said it believes in FLOATY Studio's vision and sees strong potential in Saudi Arabia's growing gaming sector. The investment also supports the country's goal of building a world-class gaming industry by helping local studios create original games for global audiences.

Founded in 2023 by Fahad Qaysi, Zeyad Almalki and Abdullah Salah, FLOATY Studio creates casual and hybrid-casual mobile games for players around the world. The company focuses on making games that are easy to play while keeping players engaged for a long time.

The studio is currently working on two main games: Pirasea, a pirate-themed strategy game, and Hero Squad, a sci-fi action game where players build a team of heroes to fight robotic enemies.
