Greenprint (Gprnt), a company from Singapore that helps businesses report and manage their environmental impact, has raised $4.62 million in early funding. The money came from important investors Ant International and MUFG Bank.
Gprnt said in a statement last Thursday that this is an important move forward for Singapore in building digital tools to help companies share and manage their sustainability information.
According to the statement, the new funding will be used to improve the company’s digital systems, boost its AI technology, and help bring more partners on board in Singapore and nearby countries faster.
Ant International, a global company based in Singapore that works with digital payments and technology, and MUFG Bank, one of the biggest banks in the world, are helping Gprnt with its goal of making sustainability reporting easier and available to more people.
Both companies will add Gprnt into their systems to help businesses share their sustainability information, fix gaps in their supply chain data, and create new chances for partnerships and funding.
“This marks a pivotal moment, not just for Gprnt, but for the future of sustainability reporting,”
“With our investors and strategic partners, we’ve built a landmark solution that empowers companies of all sizes to transform environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting and data from a burden to a bridge at minimal cost and fuss,” said Lionel Wong, Executive Director, Gprnt.
“We’re excited to put Gprnt into the hands of more governments, financial institutions, corporates, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to jointly shape a world where sustainable business models and practices become the norm,” he added.
Last Thursday, Gprnt launched the world’s first national tool that helps companies in Singapore automatically create their basic sustainability reports.
The platform was started by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) as part of the Global Finance and Technology Network (GFTN), a digital network.
Gprnt said it will keep growing its services and partner network throughout Asia in the coming months.
Gprnt has created new tools like a special sustainability marketplace and smart recommendation systems. Soon, it will also support reporting on Scope 3 supply chain data.
The company wants to help everyone involved from small businesses to big companies take real and practical steps to fight climate change.
With help from the GFTN, Gprnt plans to launch several new services. These include a low-cost digital service to check sustainability reports, an AI virtual assistant to help companies with sustainability, tools to connect and share ESG data, and analytics tools to help users use their data better.
“Digital innovation and industry collaborations are key to helping micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in their sustainability transformation journeys,
“Through Program Sirius, Ant International collaborates with Gprnt and other industry leaders to explore ways to make the sustainability disclosure process easier and more robust for MSMEs, including aligning on sustainability metrics and leveraging the use of digital ecosystems which MSMEs already operate in,” said Leiming Chen, Chief Sustainability Officer, Ant International.
