Saudi Arabia-based healthtech startup Hakeem Health has raised US$1.65 million in funding. The investment round was led by Merak Capital, with support from Sanabil 500.
Hakeem Health’s main product, HakeemDx, is a smart tool that helps doctors make better decisions. It connects with hospital systems like electronic medical records (EMRs) and lab systems to give real-time medical guidance in both Arabic and English while doctors are treating patients.
This system is designed to reduce medical mistakes and improve patient care by providing doctors with accurate, research-based information at the right time.
Hakeem Health works on a subscription-based software model and aims to partner with hospitals, universities, and healthcare organizations. With over 2,000 hospitals in markets like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Egypt, the company is planning to expand across the region.
This investment matches Merak Capital’s plan to back fast-growing tech companies, especially those using artificial intelligence to create new and better solutions.
It also supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which focuses on growing digital technology and building a stronger economy based on knowledge and innovation.
Abdulelah Alshareef, Principal of Venture Capital at Merak Capital, said: “AI is already delivering measurable productivity gains across industries, and healthcare remains a critical area for impact. Hakeem addresses key challenges in clinical decision-making by enabling faster, more accurate assessments that can improve patient outcomes. Backed by a team with deep industry experience, this represents the kind of innovation we are proud to support.”
Bilal Adi, founder and CEO of Hakeem Health, said: “Our mission is to help clinicians make better decisions, faster, so patients receive better care. Merak Capital’s investment reinforces that mission and supports the next phase of our growth. This funding enables us to expand our platform “HakeemDx” across hospitals and health systems in the GCC and continue building AI solutions that clinicians trust.”
Founded in 2022 by Bilal Adi and Mohammed Ayyad, Hakeem Health is a health-tech company that is building an AI-powered medical assistant. It helps doctors and healthcare workers by giving real-time, research-based medical information at the point of care, and it supports multiple languages.
