Inbound Aerospace Raises $1M in Pre-Seed Funding Round

Inbound Aerospace, a space technology startup supported by IIT Madras, has raised over $1 million in an early funding round. The round was led by Speciale Invest, with help from Piper Serica.

Inbound Aerospace said it will use the new funds to speed up research and development of its re-entry spacecraft.

The money will also help test important parts of the spacecraft and reach key design goals.

Inbound Aerospace was started in 2025 by Aravind I B, Vishal Reddy, and Abhijit Bhutey. The company builds smart, reusable spacecraft that can return to Earth. These are designed to help with in-space experiments, microgravity manufacturing, and space research.

Their technology fills an important gap in space research, especially as the International Space Station (ISS) is expected to shut down around 2030.

“Microgravity environments are extremely hard to recreate on Earth. Our spacecraft is designed to enable cost-effective, repeatable, and safe return of payloads conducting in-orbit experiments and manufacturing — a capability that’s critical to unlocking the next wave of growth in the space economy,” said Aravind I B, co-founder & CEO of Inbound Aerospace.

Inbound Aerospace says it is building a spacecraft platform that uses the special microgravity environment in space to make products that can benefit life on Earth.

Its reusable spacecraft allows customers to carry out technology tests and experiments in space, helping them develop new products faster.

India’s new Bio3E policy (2024) and the rising interest in space-based research for pharma, biotech, and material science are creating new opportunities.

Inbound’s re-entry spacecraft could play an important role by making it easier to do experiments and large-scale manufacturing in space.
