Japan-based Bioworks Secures Undisclosed Funding

Bioworks, a material creation company has secured undisclosed funding from Purpose Venture Capital (Singapore), Hill Capital (Hong Kong), 18 Salisbury Capital, textile trading company Yagi & Co, and other unnamed investors, bringing the total amount of funds received to $17.3 million.

Bioworks, a material creation company has secured undisclosed funding from Purpose Venture Capital (Singapore), Hill Capital (Hong Kong), 18 Salisbury Capital, textile trading company Yagi & Co, and other unnamed investors, bringing the total amount of funds received to $17.3 million.

The recently received investments will be used to improve its R&D and human resources, broaden its line of products, penetrate new markets, and grow both domestically and internationally. PlaX is a novel carbon-neutral material that Bioworks is developing in-house and will reach a wider market with.

Founded in 2020, Co-founded by Sharon Sim, Sertac Yeltekin, and Von Leong, Purpose Venture Capital is a Singapore-based early stage Venture Capital firm building sustainable and profitable tech businesses.
