Jennie Chua has been Appointed by Temasek Foundation as the new Chairman

Jennie Chua has been named as the new chairman of Temasek Foundation, with effect from September, the organization announced.

Benny Lim, the organization’s chairman for the previous four years, will be succeeded by Chua, according to a statement from Temasek Foundation.

Since April 2020, Lim has served as the Temasek Foundation board chair. He oversaw and guided the strategic transformation of Temasek Foundation during his tenure.

Along with the board, he oversaw the organization’s COVID-19 initiatives, which complemented other national initiatives to strengthen Singaporeans’ resilience to the epidemic and assist them in keeping safe.

“Temasek Foundation extends our deepest gratitude to Benny Lim for his valuable contributions and dedication. Jennie Chua brings a wealth of experience having served at Temasek Foundation since its beginnings in 2007, As we welcome Jennie Chua into this role, we look forward to an exciting new chapter of growth for the organization,” it said.

Jennie Chua, 80, will succeed retiring chair Benny Lim. After stepping down, the 68-year-old, who has chaired the foundation for the last four years, will continue to serve as a director on the board.

In addition, the businesswoman co-founded Beeworks, the food and beverage firm that introduced Jollibee to Singapore, and served as the hotel’s first general manager in 1990.
