UnionPay International (UPI) and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) have renewed their partnership to promote tourism in Singapore and improve payment services for international travelers. Together, they will run marketing campaigns, work with local merchants, and introduce cross-border payment solutions to make travel and spending in Singapore easier and more convenient for visitors.
The renewed three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) builds on the successful partnership between UnionPay International (UPI) and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). The goal is to increase tourism spending by combining STB's tourism marketing efforts with UnionPay's global payment network and regional marketing channels.
As part of the partnership, both organizations will launch tourism and payment campaigns aimed at key travel markets, including China and other countries in the region. These campaigns will highlight Singapore's tourist attractions while offering UnionPay cardholders special discounts, promotions, and convenient payment options across shopping, dining, transportation, hotels, and entertainment venues.
The partnership will also focus on business travelers, premium tourists, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) visitors. Working with banks, luxury travel platforms, and tourism partners, they will provide exclusive benefits and customized travel experiences for UnionPay cardholders visiting Singapore.
According to STB, Singapore welcomed around 16.9 million international visitors in 2025, with mainland China remaining its largest source of tourists. As global travel continues to recover, easy, secure, and convenient payment options are becoming more important for improving the visitor experience and encouraging spending.
During their previous partnership, UPI and STB launched several tourism campaigns through major travel and digital platforms, reaching more than 40 million people and increasing UnionPay's visibility among travelers to Singapore.
Going forward, both organizations will continue working together on tourism marketing, merchant partnerships, and customer engagement initiatives to support Singapore's tourism industry and make cross-border travel easier for visitors.
