The edtech business Kreedo Early Childhood Solutions, situated in Bengaluru, has revealed that it has successfully raised $4 million in a Series A fundraising round. Heritas Capital, a Singaporean company, took the lead in this investment.

Other prominent investors, such as Gray Matters Capital, 1Crowd, The Chennai Angels, and The Joka Angel Network, as well as current investor UBS Optimus Foundation, contributed significantly.

The recently obtained funding will play a crucial role in expanding Kreedo’s product line and propelling its growth into new areas of India.

Mridula Shridhar and VK Manikandan founded Kreedo in 2012, and it works with reasonably priced private schools and preschools to revolutionize early childhood education with its ground-breaking 6T learning framework.

Mridula Shridhar, Co-founder of Kreedo, said, “With the current round, we will take Kreedo to more geographies in India. With incoming demand from our school partners, we also plan to extend our product offerings moving upwards to Grades 3-5, and enhance Practico, our digital home learning platform.”

In keeping with the NEP 2020 guidelines, this model—which is centered around Kreedo Activity Labs—offers a regulated setting for play-based learning that includes toys, technology, theory, teacher preparation, a schedule, and collaboration to guarantee excellent learning outcomes for kids between the ages of three and eight.

According to Kreedo, the company has had tremendous growth in the last two years, tripling its revenue, reaching 1700 schools and preschools, and seeing a rise in the number of kids enrolled in its programs from 55,000 to over 1,40,000.

Chik Wai Chiew, CEO and Executive Director, Heritas Capital, said, “With the new funding, we look forward to supporting the founders alongside other like-minded impact investors in empowering affordable private schools and training teachers to implement activity-based learning and better classroom management for enhanced learning outcomes. We believe Kreedo’s track record and innovative growth plans will catalyse wider community efforts to enhance the future lives and livelihoods of generations of children across India.”
