Microsoft, Enterprise Singapore, and NUS Enterprise — the startup arm of the National University of Singapore (NUS) — have joined forces to help up to 150 AI startups get easier access to funding through the Startup SG Tech grant over the next three years.
The goal of this partnership is to boost AI innovation and business growth in Singapore’s tech ecosystem.
This new collaboration builds on the existing AI Accelerate program, which is run by NUS Enterprise’s BLOCK71 network and Microsoft. The program currently offers a 10-week incubator where startups can use Microsoft Azure, improve their AI products, and receive expert advice on business strategy and fundraising.
Startups in the program also get mentorship and networking opportunities with investors and AI industry leaders. The 2025 cohort includes 26 startups from various industries.
Now, the three partners are expanding the program to go beyond product development. The enhanced version will also help startups launch and grow their businesses in Singapore and overseas.
A new Go-To-Market (GTM) program will feature Microsoft experts who will guide startups on achieving product-market fit and scaling their businesses regionally and globally.
Through Enterprise Singapore’s Digital Industry Singapore (DISG) office, qualified startups will also get faster access to the Startup SG Tech grant. Microsoft will help identify promising startups for funding, working with a panel of industry and venture capital experts.
The grant can be used for key business activities like filing patents, using cloud and AI tools, hiring talent, and other efforts that support AI product development and commercialization.
“This collaboration will make a real difference to startups, actively shaping the future of AI and innovation in Asia,
“With support from NUS Enterprise and Enterprise Singapore, combined with Microsoft’s platforms, expertise, and unmatched sales and distribution ecosystem, entrepreneurs
will have the tools and resources they need to build their ideas, reach customers, and scale beyond borders,” Microsoft ASEAN President, Mayank Wadhwa said.
Meanwhile, Enterprise Singapore Managing Director, Cindy Khoo said there’s no question that AI is a game-changer for industries and businesses.
