OQT Secures $10.5 Mn to Develop Error‑Tolerant Quantum Computers

Oct 15, 2026 | By Nguyen Minh

South Korean quantum computing startup OQT has Secures $10.5 million in pre-Series A funding, led by DSC Investment, to advance error-tolerant quantum computers and develop systems for industrial and research applications.

DSC Investment led the funding round while existing investors Kakao Ventures and BluePoint Partners joined again. New investors are Murex Partners, Stonebridge Ventures, Schmidt, Z Venture Capital (ZVC) and Global Innovation Labs (GIL).

I see OQT plans to use the investment to speed up research and development boost its quantum computing technology and grow opportunities for collaboration.

OQT’s Quantum Computing Technology

OQT is building computers that use laser‑cooled neutral atoms and logical qubits. Unlike qubits logical qubits employ quantum error‑correction techniques to spot and fix computational errors, which boosts reliability in complex calculations.

The core of OQT’s technology is the Software‑Defined Quantum Processor (SDQ). The SDQ lets the processor’s design and operations be changed by software to match the needs of algorithms.

OQT combines hardware, software, quantum algorithms and error correction into one integrated system. The goal is to create quantum computers that can run calculations for real industrial and scientific uses.

How OQT Plans to Use the Funding

I believe OQT will invest in building error‑tolerant quantum computers and creating systems that fit research settings. The focus is on solving accuracy and reliability problems that still hold back commercial use of quantum computers.

OQT also plans to tap its investors’ networks to grow technology partnerships. ZVC is expected to help connect with industry groups in Japan and the United States while GIL will explore collaboration with SRI, formerly known as Stanford Research Institute.

SRI leads the Quantum Economic Development Consortium (QED‑C) whose members include NVIDIA and IonQ. GIL partners with SRI, which could give OQT more chances to build international technology relationships.

About OQT

OQT is a Korean deep‑tech startup that focuses on creating neutral‑atom quantum computers designed to boost computational reliability through error correction and software‑defined processing.

The company was founded by Kim Dong‑kyu, OQT’s executive officer and a physics professor at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). Kim also helped start QuEra, a quantum computing company that built a 256‑qubit neutral‑atom quantum computer.

OQT wants to solve technical challenges, in quantum computing by building integrated systems that merge logical qubits, error correction and flexible processor architecture.
