OrtCloud raises $1.7 million in pre-seed round led by Golden Gate Ventures

OrtCloud, a cloud infrastructure company based in Singapore, has raised US$1.7 million in a pre-seed funding round. The round was led by Golden Gate Ventures, with support from early-stage investor Antler.

OrtCloud said the funding will be used to build its virtual machine technology, which is designed to handle fixed workloads and AI-based systems more efficiently.

The company will also use the money to improve its product, expand its infrastructure, and grow in Asia-Pacific and the U.S. markets, including hiring new team members and boosting its sales efforts.

OrtCloud focuses on solving common problems in cloud computing, such as changing performance and unpredictable costs that come with shared systems.

Instead of sharing resources, OrtCloud provides fixed-resource virtual machines. This means users can upgrade to bigger plans when needed, helping them get stable performance and more predictable costs.

The company offers its services in two ways. One option is a hosted cloud platform that runs online.

The second option is an on-premises solution, where companies can run the same system on their own hardware. This is useful for businesses that need more control over data or stronger network security.

Dimick’s background in product-led growth complements Jain’s technical chops, a combination investors find compelling at early stages. Golden Gate Ventures partner Justin Hall was characteristically blunt about the appeal: “Infrastructure is the least glamorous part of the AI stack, but it’s where a lot of the real pain lives. Carl and Pranay are solving that at the layer where it actually matters, and they’re already getting paid for it.”

Antler’s Jussi Salovaara, co-founder and managing partner for Asia, backed the team at inception and is doubling down. “What stood out early was how quickly they moved from first principles to real execution and customer validation,” he said.

Founded in 2025 by Enyegue Carl Dimick, OrtCloud is building a new cloud platform designed specifically for AI-driven workloads.

Unlike traditional cloud systems designed for simple, short-running applications, OrtCloud focuses on AI agents that run continuously and require stable, secure environments. Its platform provides each AI agent with a fully isolated micro-virtual machine, ensuring no shared resources and no interference from other workloads.
