Sadev Ventures Appoints Ishan Kansal as cofounder and managing partner

Early-stage venture capital firm Sadev Ventures has appointed Ishan Kansal as cofounder and managing partner.

Kansal is expected to join the Delhi-based firm early next month and will work from Bengaluru, showing the company’s plans to open a second office in India.

He is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore and has experience in sectors such as consumer internet, fintech, insurtech, and investment banking. He has worked with both startups and growth-stage companies.

He is joining Sadev Ventures from home services startup Snabbit, where he served as Head of Product and led the product, data, and design teams.

Before Snabbit, he spent nearly six years at CRED as part of its early team. Earlier in his career, he also worked with Paytm and Deutsche Bank across India and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

Dhruv Dhanraj Bahl, Founder and Managing Partner, Sadev Ventures, said, “Ishan is not only a dear friend but also a close associate and deeply trusted partner for over a decade. I have had the distinct privilege of observing his capabilities first-hand. He exhibits a rare combination of incisive operational expertise, business acumen, and exceptional product foresight. By integrating Ishan into our leadership, Sadev is substantially bolstering its capacity to identify extraordinary founders, evaluate companies through a pragmatic, operator-focused lens and furnish critical support as they navigate the essential 0-to-1 and 1-to-10 stages of growth. I am delighted to welcome him as Co-Founder and Managing Partner as we continue the endeavor of building Sadev into the preeminent firm backing durable, category-defining companies originating from India.”

Founded in 2024 by former bharatpe COO Dhruv Dhanraj Bahl, Sadev Ventures currently manages a fund worth ₹240 crore and invests in early-stage startups that are building products and businesses for the Indian market. Its portfolio includes startups such as Asaya, Bidso, Atomgrid, Cleevo, Vama, Gladful, Prosperr, and Liquide.

The firm’s limited partners include well-known names like Deep Kalra, Shaily Mehrotra, Rohit Bhasin, Nalin Negi, and investors from OTP Ventures, including Suhail Sameer, Saurabh Vashishtha, and Kunal Suri.
