Siwar Foods in Saudi Arabia and Beijing Ubox Online Technology Co., LTD. (“Ubox”) have signed a strategic partnership MoU.
This partnership will bring innovative unmanned retailing technology for ready-to-eat (RTE) food to Riyadh, Jeddah, Mecca, and Medina, improving consumer shopping experiences. Navigator Consulting, UBOX’s Middle Eastern strategic advisor, enabled this signing and engagement.
Modern autonomous vending machines will be installed throughout Saudi Arabia thanks to a partnership between Ubox and Siwar, which will innovate and improve the retail industry. Ubox’s wealth of experience in supply chain management and unmanned retail operations in Mainland China will help Saudi Arabia advance economically, technologically, and create more jobs locally.
Ubox has amassed a plethora of business data and operational skills, particularly in product selection, pricing, distribution, and replenishment, operating inside one of the food industries with the highest level of development worldwide. With these data, Saudi customers will have a smooth and effective purchasing experience that is customized to their interests and will actively promote the expansion of the local market.

In partnership with Siwar, Ubox will take advantage of China’s sizable and reasonably priced food market in addition to its own experience in supply chain management to launch a range of reasonably priced, unique, and varied RTE meal options. Through this project, Saudi customers will have more gastronomic options, introducing the region to novel and intriguing cuisines.

A variety of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCGs), such as snacks, bottled drinks, and freshly made coffee, are available from Ubox’s automated vending machines. The machines have cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) technology installed, which allows for intelligent product detection and offers practical payment methods including face recognition, NFC, and QR code scanning.
Nearly 60,000 Ubox machines were in use by the end of 2023, serving a variety of areas such as offices, tourist attractions, schools, hospitals, sports stadiums, and transit hubs throughout 28 provinces in Mainland China.
Ubox’s unmanned retail activities brought in 2.034 billion yuan (around SAR 1.072 billion) in revenue in 2023, indicating the success of its business strategy and the growing need for automated retail solutions.

Siwar, situated in Riyadh, supplies over 480 Saudi wholesalers, hotels, restaurants, and catering firms with RTE frozen food. Digital shopping has led Siwar to operate over 120 vending machines in the region.
