Tencent Cloud, the cloud division of global tech company Tencent, announced on Thursday that it plans to support more online businesses in South Korea. It will do this by offering artificial intelligence (AI) and media technologies to help these businesses grow, become more innovative, and create more engaging and interactive experiences for their users.
Tencent Cloud said in a statement that with deep expertise in Korea’s gaming and livestreaming sectors, the firm is uniquely positioned to drive digital transformation with advanced AI and robust cloud technologies.
Today, Tencent Cloud’s advanced AI tools and flexible cloud services are being used by South Korea’s leading gaming companies.
From powerful multi-cloud systems to creating 3D virtual worlds, digital characters, and in-app chat features, Tencent Cloud’s technology is widely used in the country’s gaming industry.
Tencent Cloud is also a trusted provider of real-time communication tools for local live streaming platforms. This helps retailers, small businesses, and home-based sellers connect with a new generation of South Korean consumers who prefer to interact with brands through live streaming.
“South Korean enterprises nowadays are showing growing demand for high-performance AI and cloud-native solutions,
“As a trusted partner to Korea’s leading companies in the gaming and livestreaming industry, we are drawing on our extensive experience in building integrated digital ecosystems to combine AI innovation with Korea’s creativity,” said Jeongpil Heo, Tencent Cloud Korea Country Manager.
With strong experience in developing and using AI, Tencent Cloud offers valuable services in areas like online ads, video calls, teamwork tools, customer support, short videos, and cloud computing.
Its powerful AI model, called ‘Hunyuan,’ is quickly improving in areas such as digital humans, 3D technology, and video creation. It has reached important milestones, like generating images in milliseconds, creating unique 3D structures, and ranking highly worldwide in areas like coding, math, and science.
In South Korea, Tencent Cloud is working closely with several local partners to help businesses go through AI-driven digital transformation.
By combining its advanced AI technology with its partners’ local knowledge, Tencent Cloud is making it easier for South Korean companies to use AI.
These partners include LG CNS, SK C&C, Megazone Cloud Corporation, TK101 Global Korea, and CJ Olivenetworks.
“Tencent Cloud has continuously brought advanced solutions and exceptional localized services to Korea, building strong partnerships that have potential to serve a wide range of industries,” said Poshu Yeung, Senior Vice President, Tencent Cloud International.
In addition to helping South Korea go digital faster, Tencent Cloud is also helping Korean companies expand into China through its Go-China program.
This program gives companies the tools they need to grow in China, including cloud services, help with following local rules, and insights into Chinese users.
Thanks to this support, Korean businesses have been able to successfully enter the Chinese market. Using Tencent Cloud’s Cloud Mall service, they can create mini-apps on WeChat/Weixin — one of the world’s biggest apps with over 1.4 billion daily users — to grow their retail business in China.
“Tencent Cloud is committed to empowering Korean businesses not only locally but also globally,
“Through strategic partnerships and innovation-led solutions, we aim to help enterprises confidently expand into new markets and elevate their digital capabilities,” said Nucky Fang, General Manager of Tencent Cloud International.
