Trinasolar, a global pioneer in smart PV and energy storage technologies, is collaborating with Singapore’s top public sector R&D agency, A*STAR.
This collaboration optimizes and upgrades industrial battery production technology to support China, Singapore, and worldwide green energy transition.
The three-year alliance will research and develop breakthrough energy storage battery technologies and industrialize energy solutions. Both parties intend to solve commercial energy storage battery technical issues using A*STAR’s energy, materials, and intelligent manufacturing expertise.
A*STAR’s Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) will use its material science and engineering capabilities to develop revolutionary energy storage solutions by pioneering new materials and improving battery performance through advanced research methods.

Trinasolar Executive President Helena Li thanked the Singapore government for fostering new energy and green transition. Li praised A*STAR IMRE’s novel materials and electronics expertise and looked forward to working with this innovative team.

The partnership will use an open, inclusive, and collaborative innovation mechanism to develop next-generation energy storage battery technologies, improving energy storage manufacturing technologies and contributing to the global energy storage sector’s high-quality development.

By working together, we aim to make valuable progress in energy storage technology, apply scientific research to practical applications in Singapore, and contribute to technological and economic growth that benefits everyone,” said Professor Xian Jun Loh, Executive Director of A*STAR IMRE.
Energy storage R&D platforms at TrinaSolar include the Advanced energy storage technology research institute, energy storage engineering center, digital power research institute, and power electronic research and development center.
