Univers, a global leader in AI and IoT, has signed an MOU with Amcharge, a Malaysia-based renewable energy solutions provider that partners with AAPICO Hitech from Thailand and technology providers from China.
Together, they aim to help industrial and commercial customers in Malaysia and Thailand lower their energy costs, use cleaner energy, and speed up their progress toward Net Zero goals.
Using Univers’ AIoT platform EnOS™ and its applications EnOS™ Renewables and EnOS™ Microgrid, factories and large facilities will be able to manage rising energy costs, improve system reliability, use renewable energy more effectively, and move faster toward national Net Zero goals.
When combined with Amcharge’s strong on-ground support and deep connections in Malaysia’s manufacturing sector, this partnership will help industries in Malaysia and Thailand upgrade their energy systems and stay competitive in the long run.
In the first phase, the both companies will select up to four manufacturing sites in 2025 to run pilot projects that show how AI can improve energy performance.
These pilot projects will focus on managing maximum demand (MD), improving energy efficiency, and integrating renewable energy.
The results from these pilots will be used as reference examples to expand the solution across more industrial estates and commercial buildings.
“Malaysia and Thailand are rapidly growing industrial centres, and AI will be essential to help businesses manage rising energy costs and achieve Net Zero ambitions,” said Michael Ding, Global Executive Director, Univers “Partnering with Amcharge strengthens our ability to deliver AI for Energy solutions with strong local execution and faster customer impact.”
Lee Yeet Chuan, Chief Executive Officer of Amcharge, added: “Customers are looking for practical ways to reduce energy costs and meet sustainability goals. By combining Univers’ AIoT technology with our on-ground delivery capabilities, we can bring scalable, high-impact solutions to industries across Malaysia and Thailand.”
The partnership will use Univers’ Global Impact AI Lab to speed up the development of new AI solutions for industrial customers. These solutions, created in Singapore, will be designed to expand easily across Malaysia, Thailand, and other regions.
