Gemcorp Makes First Saudi Direct Lending Investment with US$20 Million for SILQ

Saudi-based B2B commerce and fintech platform SILQ has received a US$20 million Shariah-compliant structured financing facility from Gemcorp Capital, an asset manager focused on emerging markets.

SUMMARY

  • SILQ secured US$20 million in Shariah-compliant financing from Gemcorp Capital.
  • The funding will expand Fina, SILQ's embedded finance platform for SMEs.
  • SILQ serves 50,000+ businesses and has enabled SAR 10 billion+ in B2B trade in 2026.

The funding will help SILQ expand its embedded finance platform, Fina, which provides financial services to small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in Saudi Arabia.

This is Gemcorp Capital's first direct lending investment in Saudi Arabia. The investment comes as more SMEs are looking for alternative financing options to support and grow their businesses.

SILQ will use the new funding to grow Fina, its embedded finance platform, and offer more financial services to businesses.

Through Fina, small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) can access invoice financing, trade finance, and other financial products directly within their daily business operations.

Instead of applying for loans through traditional banks, businesses can get credit and payment services through SILQ's commerce platform, making financing faster and easier for SMEs.

SILQ supports more than 50,000 businesses in Saudi Arabia through its Sary procurement platform and Fina embedded finance platform. Together, they provide procurement, payments, financing, and business management tools in one digital platform.

According to SILQ, its platform has processed more than SAR 10 billion in B2B trade across Saudi Arabia in 2026, showing the company's rapid growth and increasing adoption among businesses.

This deal is a major achievement for Gemcorp Capital. It is the company's first direct lending investment, first Shariah-compliant financing deal, and first mezzanine financing facility in Saudi Arabia.

Gemcorp worked closely with SILQ to create a financing solution that supports the company's long-term growth. The investment will help SILQ expand its embedded financial services across Saudi Arabia and the GCC while supporting the country's Vision 2030 goal of improving financial inclusion.
