Let’s begin:

Vikas Garg, CEO and founder of abillion, realized to start something own and turned his idea into $65 million worth company. There was such a hunger inside Garg that he could do something for millions of people of this world and to satisfy this hunger, he left his well-paying job, worked hard, and today became a successful entrepreneur empowering over 12 million people in 188 countries and supporting more than 240,000 businesses.

About Vikas Garg:

Meet Vikas Garg, the CEO and founder of abillion. Vikas was born in India but moved to New York, USA, with his parents when he was 4 years old. At the age of 14, he started an internship on Wall Street. After completing further studies, he built a successful career in investment banking and finance.

After a prosperous financial career in the United States, Vikas moved to Singapore in 2015, where he joined Dymon Asia Capital as Managing Director.

One day, an internal voice inspired him to start his business and he decided to embark on his entrepreneurial journey. Although he initially struggled to identify the right business opportunity, he eventually discovered his path to success. Today, his company is valued at around $65 million.

How did he choose his path?

In his 30s, following a career in finance, one day he thought to start his own startup but struggled to figure out what kind of business to pursue.

He considered starting a business in finance, given his familiarity with the sector, but he couldn’t see himself remaining in the industry for the next 30 years.

He wanted to create a business that would make a positive impact on society. He started searching and observing all the things, around him. Finally, one thing motivated him to launch his startup, which today’s valuation is multi-million dollar.

What motivated him to launch his startup?

Vikas brought up in a vegetarian household. He preferred only vegetarian products. It was always a challenge when he went to restaurants, he often had 2-3 questions to ensure his meal met his dietary preferences.

While brainstorming his business idea, Vikas remembered the difficulties he faced with finding vegetarian options. He soon realized that many others were also grappling with the same issue, which led him to a new idea with solution. The idea was: why not start a plant based vegan food startup and this was the thing that motivated him to embark on his entrepreneurial journey. This time, he recognized that this was the place where he wanted to nurture his entrepreneurial spirit.

Started entrepreneurial journey:

In 2008, he embarked on his entrepreneurial journey on a vegan diet. He wanted to develop a platform that would ultimately help people to make the transition the challenge of making sustainable food choices into a simple, effortless and natural experience.

And this is how, eventually, in 2008, his growing concern for animal welfare and the environment led him to adopt a vegan lifestyle.

Vikas’s next move:

Vikas never used social media prior to abillion, but in 2016, he noticed that everyone is moving towards being online. So, he started to think if it was possible to redesign social media to make a meaningful impact on the world and to use it as a tool to develop a platform that would truly benefit the world. This realization led him to direct his efforts towards his startup.

Soon, he quit his job to foster plat-based living with abillion.

What is abillion?

Grag recognized his potential and built a sustainability based enterprise, empowering plant-based movement.

Finally, Garg took a leap of faith and took a risk. In 2017, he launched abillion, a platform dedicated to sustainability that enables consumers to switch to a vegan lifestyle by sharing their reviews.

abillion is a social platform designed to connect a growing community interested in sustainability, making it easier for them to discover vegan and eco-friendly products and connect with one another.

With abillion, the man is empowering sustainability consumption. He says, “I didn’t just create this platform to be another online community or review site. I created it because I believe we can use data for good.”

Garg’s achievements:

Empowered over 12 million people in 188 countries to discover community impact via vegan food, sustainable products, and a thriving sustainability network.

Supported more than 240,000 businesses globally in embracing sustainable practices.

Eventually, his patience and strong will power to make a positive impact on society paid off and Garg built a $65 million worth company.

Hats off to the man who left his straightforward path behind and chose a more challenging path.
