VinFast, an electric car maker from Vietnam, announced on Wednesday that it has formed a strategic partnership with Plugsurfing, a major EV charging service provider in Europe.
This collaboration allows VinFast customers to access a network of over 1 million public charging points across 24 countries through the VinFast app, offering a seamless and convenient charging experience throughout Europe, the firm said in a statement.
Plugsurfing has over 10 years of experience and a large network of charging partners, giving more than 2 million users access to the biggest network of EV charging stations in Europe.
In VinFast’s main markets — Germany, France, and the Netherlands — this network includes over 550,000 charging points.
As part of the deal, VinFast VF 6 and VF 8 owners will get free new charging cards. All their past charging history, account balances, and benefits will stay the same.
This partnership helps solve one of Europe’s biggest EV problems: a scattered charging system with many different providers and platforms.
It also shows VinFast’s commitment to helping customers switch to eco-friendly transportation and is an important step in the company’s plan to grow in Europe.
“Our customer-centric philosophy drives every aspect of VinFast’s operations, and this partnership is a natural extension of that commitment,
“By teaming up with Plugsurfing, we’re not only expanding our charging network but also enhancing convenience and the overall experience for our customers further accelerating the transition to electric vehicles in Europe,” said Le Ngoc Chi, Chief Executive Officer of VinFast Europe.
In Europe, VinFast currently sells two smart electric car models — the VF 6 (B-segment) and the VF 8 (D-segment) — and is planning more models for the market.
The company is also carefully expanding its network of dealers and distributors in France, Germany, and other parts of Europe. In addition, it is building a strong after-sales service network with partners like ATU (Germany), Norauto (France), LKQ (the Netherlands), and Fixico to provide repair and maintenance across the region. This supports VinFast’s goal of long-term, sustainable growth in Europe.
“We are excited to collaborate with VinFast in shaping a brighter and more sustainable EV future for Europe,
“Plugsurfing is constantly developing its network to deliver a more reliable, accessible charging experience, while actively supporting VinFast’s expansion across the continent,” said Sofia Diakhate, Chief Operating Officer of Plugsurfing.
Beyond Europe, VinFast is also expanding its global footprint in markets such as Indonesia, the Philippines, India the Middle East and North America, underscoring its global strategy to accelerate the shift to sustainable mobility worldwide.
