Visa has established six global capability hubs at its new Solution Center in Paya Lebar Green, Singapore, to develop technologies in artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, quantum computing and next-generation payments.
The new center will bring together more than 1,500 employees across technology, engineering, product development, cybersecurity and innovation. The initiative aims to develop solutions in Singapore that can be deployed across Visa’s global payment network.
Six Hubs to Focus on Emerging Technologies
The six capability hubs will focus on three major areas: artificial intelligence and commerce, next-generation payments, and trust, security and resilience.
Their work will include applied AI for payment services, agentic commerce, stablecoins, digital money, programmable payments, digital wallets and alternative payment methods. The hubs will also research quantum computing applications for financial services and strengthen cybersecurity across digital payment systems.
Visa to Expand Technology and Research in Singapore
The new Solution Center will support Visa's research, engineering and product development activities. The company also plans to create more specialised roles in AI, cybersecurity and quantum technologies.
According to Rajat Taneja, President of Technology at Visa, the expanded presence will bring together skilled professionals, technical expertise and trusted infrastructure to develop new commerce experiences for businesses and consumers worldwide.
Collaboration With Singapore's Financial Ecosystem
Visa will work with academic institutions, government bodies, financial institutions and fintech companies to develop and scale new technologies.
Its partners in Singapore include AXS, DBS, DCS, FOMO Pay, Nium and StraitsX. Visa is also participating in the Monetary Authority of Singapore's BLOOM initiative, which focuses on borderless and multi-currency digital money systems.
Singapore to Benefit From New Technology Jobs
The Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) welcomed Visa's investment in the country. Beng Kong Pee, Executive Vice President of the Singapore Economic Development Board, said the six hubs will create high-value jobs for Singaporeans and strengthen the country's position in financial technology innovation.
Through this investment, Visa aims to develop advanced payment technologies in Singapore and introduce them across its international network.
