SUMMARY

  • X Mile has raised 3.2 billion yen (US$20 million) in a Series C funding round.
  • The round was led by Vertex Growth, with participation from ALPHA and UTEC.
  • Founded in 2019, X Mile has evolved from a staffing platform into a technology company offering AI, software, M&A advisory, and vehicle sales solutions.

The funding round was led by Vertex Growth.

Both existing and new investors, including ALPHA and University of Tokyo Edge Capital Partners (UTEC), also participated in the round.

With this latest investment, X Mile's total funding has reached 7 billion yen (US$44 million). The company operates a workforce and operations platform for Japan's logistics, construction, and manufacturing industries.

“These industries are on the brink of major structural change, facing severe labour shortages, an ageing workforce, and business succession challenges,” said Hiroyuki Noro, Representative Director and CEO of X Mile. “With this funding, we will invest further in vertical AI, expand our M&A and business-support capabilities, and deepen partnerships with major corporations as we build toward becoming the core management infrastructure for non-desk industries.”

“Vertex Growth is excited to announce our investment in X Mile, a company addressing some of Japan’s most acute labour shortages in transportation, construction, and manufacturing,” said Tam Hock Chuan, General Partner at Vertex Growth.

Founded in 2019 by Hiroyuki Noro, Yuko Watanabe, Yuki Matsuo, X Mile started as a staffing platform that connected workers with employers in industries facing labor shortages, such as logistics, construction, and manufacturing.

Over time, the company expanded its business by offering software solutions, AI tools, M&A advisory services, and vehicle sales for businesses in these industries.

This expansion reflects the growing need for companies in Japan's non-desk industries to improve workforce management, productivity, and business operations through technology.
