UnaBiz, a Singapore-based Internet of Things (IoT) service provider, has revealed that it has raised $25 million in its pre-Series C fundraising round in order to expand internationally and further penetrate the market.
According to the release, KYOCERA Communication Systems, a subsidiary of electronics manufacturer Kyocera, and KDDI Open Innovation Fund 3, the corporate venture fund of Global Brain Corp and telco major KDDI, supported the investment round, which UnaBiz intends to reach its ultimate conclusion by October 2024.
In the previous year, UnaBiz sought to fund $100 million in a Series C round to meet the demands of manufacturers and retailers who were searching for solutions to track freight during delivery.
The Internet of Things business, supported by GK Goh Holdings and Optimal Investment and led by returning investor SPARX Group, raised $50 million in its Series B fundraising round.

According to UnaBiz, it will use the additional funding to ensure industry growth, quicken its market share gain in the gas and water utility sector, and expand its market penetration in the logistics and supply chain sectors.
The most recent round of funding comes after company acquired and integrated Sigfox 0G technology, which opened up new avenues for IoT installations, according to CEO and co-founder Henri Bong.

UnaBiz claims to be one of the largest aggregators of enormous IoT solutions, connecting 13.5 million devices, four million of which were added in the last 24 months.
The U.S.-based Semtech and the Chinese networking behemoth Huawei are competitors of UnaBiz.
