Eon Space Labs, a deeptech startup focused on advanced imaging technologies, has raised $1.2 million (around INR 10.5 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round. The round was led by MGF Kavachh, with additional support from HHV Advanced Technologies.
The company plans to use the funds to scale up production of its AI-powered electro-optical and infrared payloads, expand its engineering team, and prepare for upcoming product launches.
Sarjeet Yadav, Venture Partner at MountTech Kavachh, said, “We are excited to support the bold and visionary team at Eon. They are not only indigenously building but also strengthening India’s position in the global optics and surveillance technology space.”
Prasanth Sakhamuri, Managing Director, HHV Advanced Technologies, added, “Our partnership with Eon is built on a shared commitment to advance India’s high-precision optics manufacturing capabilities. The investment marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration to bring deep-tech imaging solutions to market.”
EON Space Labs, co-founded in 2022 by Sanjay Kumar, Punit Badeka, and Manoj Kumar Gaddam is a deeptech startup incubated at IIT Madras. The company specializes in building advanced Earth Observation (EO) imaging payloads for satellites, drones, and ground systems.
EON develops compact, high-resolution electro-optic and infrared (EO/IR) systems that are up to three times lighter and smaller than traditional payloads. This helps reduce deployment costs while still delivering high-quality images.
Its key products include the MIRA space telescope, currently undergoing validation, and the LUMIRA EO/IR platform, which is already military-certified. EON handles every step in-house—from optical design to prototyping and manufacturing—giving it complete control, speed, and precision throughout the process.
The company is also expanding globally through international partnerships and has already secured several commercial orders after successful proof-of-concept demonstrations.
Looking ahead, EON plans to launch four new versions of its LUMIRA EO/IR systems, designed for long-range detection of people, vehicles, threats, and drones—via both aerial and ground-based surveillance platforms.
