Gobi Partners Makes First Bangladesh Investment in Travel Platform Jatri

Gobi Partners has made its first investment in Bangladesh by backing Jatri a B2B travel commerce platform based in Dhaka. This move is part of Gobi Partners’ plan to expand its presence in South Asia.

Jatri offers a single platform for travel agents, travel management companies, and corporate buyers to find and sell travel services easily.

The platform also provides built-in trade finance, helping solve common industry problems such as scattered travel supply, last-minute bookings, and lack of working capital.

The company said it now operates in more than 100 cities across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, the UK, Europe and North America, and has processed more than 250 million lifetime transactions.

Jatri said its platform gives access to a large travel network, including over 80,000 car drivers, 6,000 buses, and 40 ferry operators. This supports intercity, cross-border, and multi-mode travel.

The company also has a strong presence in the Middle East and North Africa through its regional brand Saafir. This region now contributes nearly 60% of Jatri’s total revenue.

Jatri works with more than 70 travel companies, including Almatar, dnata, Mannai Travel, and Satguru Travel. Together, these partners generate over $10 billion in travel sales every year in the Middle East.

Aziz Arman, founder and CEO of Jatri, said the investment will help the company improve its product, launch new innovations, and build stronger partnerships with airlines, hotels, financial institutions, and large corporate travel buyers.

Thomas G. Tsao, co-founder and chairman of Gobi Partners, said Jatri stands out among travel and mobility startups in Bangladesh because of its strong leadership and its ability to scale across borders.
