Nvidia Acquires Israeli AI Startup Illumex in $60 Million Deal

NVIDIA has acquired Israeli startup Illumex. The financial details were not officially shared, but the deal is estimated to be around $60 million.

Illumex had previously raised about $13 million in a Seed funding round.

Illumex’s investors include Cardumen Capital, Amdocs Ventures, Samsung Ventures, ICI Fund, Jibe Ventures, Iron Nation Fund, Ginnosar Ventures, ICON Fund, Today Ventures, as well as several angel investors.

Illumex was founded in 2021 by Inna Tokarev Sela. She previously worked as AVP & Head of AI at Sisense and as Senior Director of Machine Learning at SAP.

The company took part in the Intel Ignite and ICON accelerator programs. After the acquisition, Illumex’s employees joined Nvidia.

“Our Generative Semantic Fabric aligns organizational data with business meaning and domain-specific context, allowing organizations to finally trust the results of their AI initiatives,” Tokarev Sela told media following the startup’s Seed round. “By enabling business users to interact reliably with data using natural language, without teaching them the precise technical definitions, we’re democratizing AI and empowering enterprises to make better decisions.”

Last month, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang spoke about the company’s work in Israel during a press conference at CES 2026. He said Israel plays an important role in Nvidia’s global operations.

Nvidia has been active in Israel since it bought networking company Mellanox for $6.9 billion in 2019. After the deal, Mellanox’s Yokneam office became Nvidia’s main center in Israel, and it now employs around 3,000 out of the company’s 5,000 employees in the country.

“Our team in Israel is incredible. They’re hardworking, they’re smart, they’re dedicated, they care about the company, they care about their people, they care about the country,” Huang said when asked about Nvidia’s presence in Israel. “The sacrifices they make for each other, for their country, is incredible, and we’ve been very, very successful there.”
