Taipei Private Wego High School has officially teamed up with the Foundation for Scholarly Exchange (Fulbright Taiwan) to run the “Academic Year 115 English Teaching Fellow (ETF) Satellite Project.” The project will bring American Fulbright scholars and debate coaches to the school to help improve English learning and critical thinking skills.
The project will also share international education resources with the local community and nearby schools, supporting the idea of education for everyone.
Under this program, Fulbright Taiwan will choose one English Teaching Fellow (ETF) and one American Debate Coach to create a special teaching team at Wego High School. This team will help with English classes, teach critical thinking, and lead debate training.
All Fulbright scholars go through a careful selection process. They are recommended by American university professors, reviewed by the Institute of International Education (IIE), and finally chosen by Fulbright Taiwan’s expert committee. This ensures they have excellent teaching skills and can communicate well across cultures.
Besides teaching at Wego High School, the project focuses on sharing educational resources with the wider community. The American teaching fellows and debate coaches will spend set hours each week visiting nearby schools to run English and critical thinking programs.
Through debates, workshops, and other activities, more students will get the chance to experience an international learning environment and develop their critical thinking skills.
Wego High School said this collaboration is an important step for the school’s international education. It is also a project focused on giving back to the community and supporting education for everyone.
By bringing in and sharing international resources, the school aims to give more students the chance to learn English, develop critical thinking, and gain a global perspective. This will make the school’s education more diverse and richer.
In the future, Wego High School plans to continue expanding international cooperation and educational innovation. The goal is to create a global learning platform that prepares students to be skilled, responsible, and socially aware leaders.
