Edtech startup GAGA raises $2.5 million in pre-Series A round

Saudi edtech startup GAGA has raised US$2.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round.

The round was led by Phoenix Venture Partners and also included investments from family offices and individual investors.

Unlike traditional platforms with recorded lessons, GAGA focuses on live, interactive learning. The platform uses games and activities to make learning more fun and engaging for students.

GAGA connects students directly with teachers, creating a more personal and dynamic learning experience.

The platform is also building AI-powered tools to track student progress, find learning gaps, and create custom learning paths for each student.

The new funding will help GAGA grow its network of teachers, improve its technology, and expand its Arabic-language educational content across Saudi Arabia.

The investment will also support the development of AI tools to create more personalized and data-driven learning experiences for students.

With total funding of $4.2 million, GAGA is becoming a leading alternative to traditional private tutoring and regular online learning platforms in Saudi Arabia.

Founded in 2023 by Abdullah Alkharsani and Eyad Alshabaan, GAGA provides live, interactive online classes for students aged 4 to 18. The platform offers over 1,000 programs in 200 subjects, mixing academic lessons with skill-based learning through real-time interaction between teachers and students.
