Ash Games Raises US$1.5M Seed Funding to Bring Local Stories to Global Gamers

The new funding will help Ash Games speed up the development of its video games and launch them in global markets. The studio focuses on creating games inspired by Saudi and regional culture.

Ash Games' main project is Nomad, an action-adventure roguelite game inspired by the mythology of Ancient Arabia. The game is expected to launch on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox in 2027.

The studio has also introduced Azooma Escape, a stealth-comedy game based on everyday life in Saudi Arabia. Both games reflect Ash Games' goal of creating entertainment inspired by local culture and stories.

The new funding will help the company improve its game development, hire more team members, and expand its publishing and marketing efforts in international markets.

Ash Games currently has a remote-first team of 18 employees. The company plans to increase its game production and bring Saudi-made games to players around the world, supporting Saudi Arabia's goal of becoming a major gaming hub in the region.

Founded in 2022 by Anas Bakhsh, Yaser Alahmadi, and Saud Bakolka, Ash Games develops action-adventure games for PC and gaming consoles. Its games are inspired by Saudi Arabia's history, folklore, and cultural traditions.

The studio wants to create high-quality games that can compete in the global market while sharing authentic Saudi stories and culture with players around the world.
