AVV announces $6M investment in six Vietnamese startups

AVV, a venture capital firm based in Vietnam, plans to invest $6 million in six startups over the next six months. This will be done through its second main fund, called AVV Fund 2.

The company said on Friday that this new fund came after its first one, 500 Startups Vietnam, but it has now been renamed AVV Fund 1.

The announcement shows that AVV is still focused on supporting talented business founders and promising companies, especially ones with smart ideas and strong connections to Vietnam.

AVV strongly believes that great teams are the key to successful investments.

The firm invests in all kinds of startups but is especially interested in creating new and exciting ideas in different industries.

AVV is looking to invest in startups using artificial intelligence (AI) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) to improve traditional industries like logistics, manufacturing, and accounting. They’re also interested in advanced areas like AI infrastructure and cybersecurity. The firm wants to support companies that are helping shape the future of technology and business in Vietnam and worldwide.

AVV invests in very early-stage startups, where strong belief in an idea is important and early funding can make a big difference in the company’s success.

“The firm backs founders with bold visions, deep technical or operational acumen, and the resilience to build enduring and market-defining companies,” said Binh Tran, Co-founder and General Partner.

Although AVV is based in Vietnam, it supports startups aiming to grow beyond the country—from those leading in Southeast Asia to others building strong, world-class products.

“The firm is especially drawn to markets undergoing structural change, where technology can unlock transformative improvements in productivity, access, or trust,” he added.

AVV usually takes the lead when investing in startups and invests between $250,000 and $2 million in each one.

AVV prefers to invest in startups with a link to Vietnam, but it’s also open to investing in companies from other countries if the opportunity is especially exciting and promising.

This isn’t new money but a reminder of AVV’s bigger goal to support an environment where brave and creative founders can succeed.

It said that AVV is a top player in Vietnam’s startup scene, not just by investing money but by offering help, advice, and connections to important people in the region.

With a lot of technical and hands-on experience and a strong belief in great talent and getting things done, AVV said it is ready to support Vietnam’s next group of game-changing companies.

AVV is a venture capital firm based in Ho Chi Minh City that invests in early-stage tech startups worldwide.
