ASISTA is designed to assist both knee bending and straightening through motor-based technology. Unlike conventional microprocessor-controlled prosthetic knees that mainly provide passive control, the product aims to actively support movements such as walking, climbing stairs, using slopes and sitting down.
Growing Demand for Powered Prosthetics
The US prosthetics market is seeing growing demand for advanced devices as the number of people with diabetes increases and the prosthetic user population ages.
In 2025, the US introduced a new billing code for electromechanical prosthetic knees, supporting the wider adoption of motor-powered devices. BionicM believes this development could create new opportunities for its technology.
