Boomi Acquires Elementary Data

Boomi has acquired Israeli startup Elementary Data in a deal valued at approximately $40 million to $45 million in cash and stock. The acquisition will strengthen Boomi’s enterprise platform with data observability, quality, governance, and monitoring capabilities to help businesses use reliable data across artificial intelligence (AI) systems and enterprise applications.

The acquisition adds technology designed to identify data quality issues before they affect business reports, AI models, and automated workflows. Boomi serves more than 30,000 customers worldwide and is expanding its platform to support the growing adoption of AI agents.

Boomi Acquires Elementary to Improve AI Data Quality

Founded in 2022, Elementary Data develops software that helps businesses monitor the quality, reliability, and performance of their data. Its technology enables data teams to detect problems involving data freshness, volume, and accuracy before they affect downstream systems.

Elementary began as an open-source project and introduced Elementary Cloud in 2024 to provide additional enterprise features. According to the companies, its technology is used by more than 1,500 data teams, receives over 1.1 million downloads per month, and has a community of approximately 4,000 members.

Acquisition to Strengthen Boomi’s AI Platform

Elementary’s technology will complement Boomi’s Enterprise Platform and its Active Data Foundation, which connects and governs data moving across applications, systems, and enterprise environments.

The platform provides data lineage tracking, a shared data catalog, ownership information, and quality metrics. Its column-level lineage capabilities help businesses trace data across ingestion, transformation, business intelligence, and AI systems.

Elementary also offers a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that makes data context and health information available to AI tools and agents. Its AI-powered capabilities can automate data test creation, identify anomalies, prioritize incidents, and support governance and performance optimization.

Elementary Data’s Founders and Previous Funding

Elementary Data was founded by Maayan Salom, its CEO, and Or Avidov, its Chief Product and Technology Officer. Both founders previously served in Israel’s military intelligence unit 8200.

Before founding Elementary, Salom managed incident response engagements at cybersecurity company Sygnia, while Avidov worked as Director of Engineering at Singular.
