Cisco and PSA Singapore Partner

Cisco and PSA Singapore are partnering to develop an AI-powered platform to improve monitoring, security, and incident management at Tuas Port in Singapore. The platform aims to help technical teams detect system problems, identify their causes, and resolve incidents faster.

AI Platform to Improve Port Operations

The project will develop a proof-of-concept platform that brings real-time data from PSA’s applications, IT infrastructure, and networks into a single view. It will use artificial intelligence (AI) to show how different systems and services are connected.

The platform is designed to help technical teams identify which services are affected by an incident, find the root cause, and receive recommendations for fixing problems in real time.

Focus on Reducing System Downtime

Reliable digital systems are essential for automated ports, where technical failures can affect cargo movement, storage, and daily operations.

Cisco highlighted that the average annual cost of downtime per organization has reached $300 million. The new platform aims to reduce unexpected outages and support business continuity by helping teams identify and resolve technical issues more quickly.

Platform to Be Tested at Tuas Port

The initial implementation will take place at the Tuas Port Phase 2 Living Lab, a real-world testing environment where the companies can evaluate and improve the technology.

The project is part of Cisco’s Country Digital Acceleration program, which supports digital initiatives aligned with national priorities. It will also contribute to PSA’s broader digital transformation as Tuas Port continues to expand towards full completion in the 2040s.

Leaders Highlight Digital Resilience

Nelson Quek, regional chief executive for Southeast Asia at PSA International, said digital resilience is essential to maintaining the reliability and efficiency of global supply chains. He added that the collaboration reflects both companies’ commitment to innovation in port operations and Singapore’s role as a trusted global trade hub.

Bee Kheng Tay, president for ASEAN at Cisco, said the company is committed to providing PSA with AI-powered observability and security capabilities.
