Bengaluru-based aerospace propulsion startup DheyaTech has raised ₹43 crore ($5.1 million) in funding led by Avaana Capital with participation from Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing Limited.

What is DheyaTech?

Founded in 2018 by aerospace engineers Gurushankara KC, Abhinav Alva and Chetan Kumar, DheyaTech develops small gas turbine engines for aerospace propulsion and energy applications. Its engine portfolio covers thrust capacities from 20 kgf to 400 kgf.

The company develops its technology in house, including engine design, development, assembly, testing and its proprietary Engine Control Unit (ECU). Its engines are being developed for advanced aerial platforms as well as fuel-flexible and hydrogen-based applications.

DheyaTech has also been working on hydrogen technologies and distributed power generation. In collaboration with IISc Bengaluru, it developed a hydrogen-based flexi fuel combustor for a 60-kW turbogenerator.

Funding Details

DheyaTech raised ₹43 crore in the latest funding round led by Avaana Capital. Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing Limited also participated in the round.

The company has spent about a decade developing its gas turbine technology and is now moving toward commercial deployment. It has also received orders from Indian and global OEMs, although their names and contract values have not been disclosed.

How Will DheyaTech Use the Funding?

The fresh capital will be used to increase engine production and establish an integrated testing facility. DheyaTech also plans to strengthen partnerships with domestic and international OEMs to support commercial deployments.

The company is targeting flight trials of its engines in Q4 2026 as it moves its technology from development toward wider commercial use.

Who Founded DheyaTech

DheyaTech was founded by aerospace engineers with experience at GE Aviation and Rolls-Royce. The company follows a platform-based approach, developing different engine models for different thrust requirements and applications.

It is also pursuing independent airworthiness certification for its gas turbine engines under the guidance of the Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification (CEMILAC), a DRDO laboratory.

Beyond aerospace propulsion, DheyaTech is developing hydrogen-based technologies and energy systems. Its work includes an ATEX-certified hydrogen blower and the hydrogen-based flexi-fuel combustor developed with IISc Bengaluru.

Market and Business Growth

DheyaTech is operating in the small gas turbine engine segment where India has historically depended heavily on imported technology. The company is developing indigenous engines for aerospace and energy applications and is now preparing for commercial deployment.

Its confirmed OEM orders and planned flight trials indicate that the company is moving from technology development toward production and customer deployments.
