Elbit Systems Secures $200 Mn Contracts for Airborne Surveillance and Training Solutions
Oct 26, 2026 | By Nguyen Minh

Elbit Systems has secured contracts worth approximately $200 million from an undisclosed country in Asia-Pacific to supply airborne surveillance, targeting and pilot training solutions. The contracts will be carried out over a period of up to five years.
Announced on October 26, 2026, the agreements cover helicopter-mounted surveillance equipment, upgrades to existing airborne combat-training systems and advanced cockpit display technologies.
Elbit Systems to Supply SPECTRO 12 Surveillance Technology
A key component of the contracts is the SPECTRO 12, a compact multispectral intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) payload designed for integration into helicopters.
The system combines high-resolution imaging, laser-based target designation and artificial intelligence-powered image processing. These capabilities are designed to help crews detect, identify and track targets at long distances, including in challenging weather conditions.
Contracts Include Airborne Training Systems and Head-Up Displays
The agreements also include support and upgrade services for airborne live-training systems already installed on aircraft.
These systems enable pilots to practise air-to-air and air-to-ground combat scenarios by combining live operations with virtual simulations. They also provide real-time combat simulation, weapon scoring and mission debriefing capabilities to support pilot training and operational readiness.
In addition, Elbit Systems will supply advanced head-up display (HUD) systems. These displays present flight and mission information within a pilot's field of view. The new systems feature high-resolution displays, improved video capabilities and lower power consumption, supporting both daytime and nighttime operations.
Elbit Systems' Recent Defense Contracts
The latest award follows a separate $270 million contract announced by Elbit Systems in September 2026 for airborne intelligence, surveillance and targeting systems for an undisclosed international customer. That agreement covered equipment from its SPECTRO family and AMPS NG airborne systems. However, no information confirms whether the two contracts involve the same customer.
Elbit Systems reported revenue of approximately $2.29 billion for the second quarter of 2026. As of June 30, 2026, the company reported an order backlog of $32 billion.
Bezhalel (Butzi) Machlis, President and CEO of Elbit Systems, said the company's airborne solutions combine advanced technologies with operational experience to improve mission effectiveness, situational awareness and operational readiness.
