Elita Genetics Raises $1.9M to Expand Preventative Dog Healthcare

Melbourne-based pet health startup Elita Genetics has raised $1.9M in an early VC round led by Boost VC to expand its preventative healthcare platform for dogs.

SUMMARY

  • Elita Genetics has raised $1.9M in an early VC round led by Boost VC, with Gandel Invest, Artesian’s Female Leaders Fund, Touch Ventures and M8 Ventures also participating.
  • The Melbourne-based startup will use the funding to develop Blueprint360, an at-home biological testing product, and expand its preventative healthcare platform beyond genetic banking.
  • Elita has also partnered with VetChat to provide dog owners with 24/7 access to local vets, who can review a dog’s Blueprint health history before consultations.

What is Elita Genetics?

Elita Genetics is building a preventative health platform for dogs that brings together genetic information, biological testing and veterinary care.

Its Blueprint technology tracks changes in a dog's health over time. It uses medical history, biological test results and information shared by pet owners to build a health record for each dog.

The startup is expanding beyond its original focus on genetic banking to provide more continuous health monitoring and veterinary support.

How Much Funding Has Elita Genetics Raised?

Elita Genetics has raised $1.9M in its latest funding round. The company previously secured $1.1M in a pre-Seed round in July 2025.

The earlier round included investment from the Alice Anderson fund for female founders and was used to build a stem cell bank for Australian pets.

Who Invested in Elita Genetics' Early VC Round?

Boost VC led the latest funding round. Gandel Invest, Artesian's Female Leaders Fund, Touch Ventures and M8 Ventures also participated.

The round closed in three weeks, while a further $100,000 was kept open for potential strategic investors.

Why the Funding Matters

The new capital will help Elita develop Blueprint360, an at-home biological testing product being built in-house.

The company is also using the funding to broaden its preventative care offering as veterinary costs rise and pet owners look for ways to identify health issues earlier.

Who founded Elita Genetics?

Elita Genetics was founded in December 2024 by Paloma Newton and Jackson Gritching. The company is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia.

Market and Business Growth

Elita has expanded its offering through a partnership with Australian veterinary telehealth company VetChat.

Through the partnership, dog owners can access local registered vets around the clock. Veterinarians can also review a dog's Blueprint history before a consultation.

The company initially focused on stem cell banking but has since moved toward a wider preventative healthcare model combining biological data and veterinary support.

leadership comments

Co-founder Paloma Newton wants to build what she calls "the biggest pet healthcare brand in the world."

"We believe that Elita is about to give dogs better standard of care than humans," Boost VC founder and managing director Adam Draper said.

"We were after a fantastic partner in the US, which we got. We were after a really strong partner in Australia, which we got through Gandel, and we were also after a partner who could be a global growth partner, which is Artesian," she said.

What Happens Next?

Elita plans to launch Blueprint360 later this year as it continues developing its at home biological testing technology.

The startup also aims to expand its preventative healthcare platform and build a broader pet health business around biological testing, health monitoring and veterinary access.
