Israeli medtech company FIZE Medical has announced the first close of a $20 million Series B funding round, co-led by Asahi Kasei Medical and Rapha Capital Management.

The funding will support the development of FIZE Optima the company’s next generation platform for AI-guided fluid management in intensive care units (ICUs). Asahi Kasei Medical which is already FIZE Medical’s exclusive distributor in Japan will also distribute FIZE kUO in Europe.
The round follows a $14 million funding round raised two years ago. FIZE Medical had raised $30 million before the Series B, bringing its total funding to $50 million if the company reaches the full $20 million financing target.
What is FIZE Medical?
FIZE Medical is an Israeli medtech company focused on fluid management for critically ill patients. Its FIZE kUO system provides real time digital monitoring of urine output, helping healthcare teams monitor kidney function manage fluid levels and identify risks earlier.
The company is also developing FIZE Optima, a next generation platform that uses continuous physiological data and AI to predict fluid related risks and support clinical treatment decisions.
FIZE kUO is commercially available in Japan, Europe and the U.S. In Israel, the system is being used across 60 intensive care beds at hospitals including Soroka and Beilinson. Sheba is also expected to implement the system.

FIZE Medical's latest financing is a Series B round targeting $20 million. The first close was co-led by Asahi Kasei Medical and Rapha Capital Management.
The funding comes two years after the company's previous $14 million raise. FIZE Medical had raised $30 million before the latest round. If the full Series B target is completed, the company will have raised $50 million in total.
The round also expands FIZE Medical's relationship with Asahi Kasei Medical. The Japanese company already serves as FIZE Medical's exclusive distributor in Japan and will now distribute FIZE kUO in Europe.

FIZE Medical began operations in 2019, while the initial development of its technology started in 2011 under the leadership of Noam Levine.
The company is currently led by Dror Zerem, who has previously served as CEO of companies including Ophir Optronics and VisionMap. VisionMap was acquired by Rafael.
FIZE Medical currently employs around 40 people. Its technology focuses on improving how fluid balance and kidney function are monitored in critically ill patients.
