FPT and Quandela Partner to Develop Vietnam’s Quantum Computing Ecosystem
Oct 20, 2026 | By Carmela Catilo

Vietnamese technology company FPT has partnered with French quantum computing company Quandela to support quantum technology research, education, and innovation in Vietnam.
The two companies have signed a two-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop cooperation in photonic quantum computing and strengthen Vietnam’s quantum technology ecosystem. The partnership will combine FPT’s engineering and research capabilities with Quandela’s expertise in quantum computing hardware, software, and cloud infrastructure.
Focus on Quantum Research and Innovation
Under the agreement, FPT and Quandela will explore joint research projects involving quantum algorithms, quantum communications, cybersecurity applications, and other areas of mutual interest.
The partnership will also provide FPT researchers with access to Quandela’s cloud-based quantum computing infrastructure. FPT plans to establish a dedicated research group to conduct experiments and explore practical applications of quantum technology.
The initiative aims to help researchers understand how quantum computing could address specific technical challenges and create new opportunities for businesses and research institutions.
Quantum Education and Talent Development
Education and talent development will be another key area of cooperation. The companies plan to explore ways to support quantum computing education through FPT’s university and high-school programmes.
Planned activities include access to quantum learning environments and open-source tools, expert training, seminars, and exchanges between researchers and engineers.
These initiatives are intended to develop knowledge and technical skills in quantum computing while encouraging more students and researchers to engage with the technology.
Potential Business and Public-Sector Applications
FPT and Quandela may also explore joint advisory services for businesses and public-sector organisations, along with opportunities for international technology deployments.
Through these activities, the companies aim to identify potential quantum computing use cases and strengthen cooperation between Vietnam’s technology ecosystem and European quantum research and industry networks.
Dr. Nguyen Xuan Phong, FPT’s chief AI transformation officer and director of the Quantum AI & Cyber Security Institute, said the partnership would strengthen FPT’s research capabilities, provide access to advanced technology, and help identify applications that could create economic value for Vietnam.
