HerSpace Manufacturing Secures $40 Mn to Expand Worker Housing Across India

Bengaluru-based startup HerSpace Manufacturing has raised US$40 million from existing investor Gray Matters Capital to expand its worker accommodation business.

SUMMARY

  • HerSpace Manufacturing, a Bengaluru-based startup, has raised $40 million from existing investor Gray Matters Capital.
  • HerSpace provides dedicated housing for industrial workers and aims to improve employee retention, safety, productivity, and satisfaction.
  • The company also wants to address issues with traditional PG accommodation, including quality, safety, compliance, and secure housing for women.

Gray Matters Capital had earlier invested $10 million in the company in 2025. The latest funding will be provided over the next 30 months through a combination of debt, equity and quasi-equity.

HerSpace Manufacturing plans to use the new capital to expand across Greater Bengaluru, Hosur, Chennai and Andhra Pradesh.

The company provides accommodation for industrial workers and currently has more than 950 modular beds in operation, with over 10,000 additional beds in its pipeline.

HerSpace says its housing solutions can help companies improve employee retention, productivity and satisfaction, while also reducing transportation costs and carbon emissions.

The company also highlighted the limitations of traditional paying guest (PG) accommodation including concerns around quality, safety, compliance and secure access for women. HerSpace aims to address these challenges through dedicated worker housing as India's manufacturing sector continues to grow.

“HerSpace has moved quickly from an idea to a working business with strong market demand. Our goal now is to use the capital, experience and lessons from our first projects to build a model that can scale quickly while maintaining the quality and affordability that make HerSpace valuable to workers and employers,” said Bob Pattillo, Founder, HerSpace Manufacturing.

“One company placed 200 women employees with us, who then excitedly told all their colleagues, who then asked to be relocated to HerSpace. The company decided to take the entire remaining capacity of 280 beds,” Pattillo said.

“This funding milestone marks a defining moment for HerSpace and reflects the immense market opportunity ahead,” said Simha Nagaraj, CEO of HerSpace Manufacturing.
