iBLOXX Studios raises US$5 million in funding for global expansion

iBLOXX Studios DMCC, a Dubai-based game development company, has raised over US$5 million. The money will be used to complete development and prepare for the launch of its new game, StrayShot.

The studio is based in the DMCC Free Zone in Dubai. It is part of the DMCC Gaming Centre and also takes part in the Dubai Program for Gaming 2033, which supports the growth of the gaming industry in Dubai.

iBLOXX Studios works closely with major ecosystem partners such as the Dubai Future Foundation, Xsolla and the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority. The studio has also showcased its work at the Dubai Pavilion during Gamescom.

StrayShot is a mobile-first third-person shooter game. It is designed to provide high-quality gameplay while still working smoothly on low-end smartphones.

The game includes different modes like Battle Royale, Team Deathmatch, and Extraction. It is set in a fictional South American region called Sierra Verde, where players act as mercenaries fighting against each other and a cartel leader named El Fuego.

The game is currently in closed testing, which means only selected players can try it for now. It will also include blockchain features, allowing players to own and trade in-game items securely.

The new funding will help the company with global marketing and distribution, managing live game operations, releasing regular updates, and preparing versions of the game for consoles.

“The capital allows us to bring StrayShot to market with the level of quality and operational readiness we believe players expect,” said Domenik Maier, CEO of iBLOXX Studios.

Founded in 2021 by Domenik Maier, iBLOXX creates multiplayer games that use blockchain technology. One of its main games, StrayShot, is a mobile third-person shooter where players can own in-game items.
