Biotech startup Immuneel Therapeutics has raised ₹100 crore(approx US$10.5 million) in a Series B funding round with support from both new and existing investors.
The funding round included investments from Singularity AMC, Rainmatter by Zerodha, and several high-net-worth individuals. Existing investors such as Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Eight Roads Ventures, and F-Prime Capital also participated.
Immuneel plans to use the fresh funding to expand its manufacturing capacity, advance the development of its cell and gene therapy treatments, and grow its presence in markets across the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions.
Immuneel Therapeutics Founder Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw said, “This company was founded with the belief that advanced cell therapies should not remain confined to a small segment of patients or a handful of geographies. This fundraise strengthens our ability to build a globally competitive CAR-T platform from India combining deep science, scalable manufacturing and significantly improved affordability. We believe India can play a meaningful role in shaping the future of cell and gene therapy for the world."
